The Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana, has outlined a series of activities to commemorate the 2026 IPR, Ghana Month in July – a month-long celebration of public relations practice, professional development and the value of strategic communication. As part of the celebration, the Institute will also join the global PR community to observe World Public Relations Day on 16th July.
The celebration will feature professional dialogues, leadership conversations, youth-focused engagements, regional activities and digital campaigns. These activities are designed to create opportunities for learning, networking and reflection, while highlighting the important role public relations plays in leadership, trust-building and national development.
For IPR, Ghana, this year’s celebration will also serve as a platform to deepen conversations on public relations practice, leadership readiness and the role of communication in building trust in organisational and national leadership.
Activities for the Month
IPR, Ghana will mark WPRD and IPR Ghana Month with the following activities:
• IPR, Ghana World PR Day Professional Dialogue 2026 — addressing some challenges in Public Relations practice
• IPR, Ghana President’s Award to a Non-IPR Ghana Member for an initiative that demonstrates the effective application of public relations principles
• First Edzikanfo Lecture — This is the first of an annual lecture series aimed at recognizing the contribution of pioneers in the public relations profession in Ghana. This first edition is in Honourof J. E. Allotey Pappoe, a founding member of IPR, Ghana
• High School Environmental Sustainability Conversations facilitated by IPR, Ghana Regional Chapters
• Public Sector PR Professionals Dialogue
• Spotlighting our IPR, Ghana Young PR Professionals
• Leadership Training for IPR, Ghana Student Chapter Executives
• IPR, Ghana Student Chapters Rock
• Public Relations in Strategic Leadership – A Digital Campaign
These activities reflect IPR, Ghana’s commitment to strengthening professional practice, promoting ethical communication, developing the next generation of practitioners and positioning public relations as a strategic asset for leadership.
President of IPR, Ghana, Ms. Esther A. N. Cobbah, said the month-long activities will provide members of the Institute opportunities for learning and networking. With “Public Relations and Leadership Readiness” as our theme this year, the activities are designed to demonstrate the relevance of Public Relations to Leadership effectiveness. There are activities for every member, and all are encouraged to participate fully.”

As institutions continue to navigate complex issues amid rising stakeholder expectations, IPR, Ghana believes the role of public relations has become even more important.
The Institute is therefore using this year’s celebration to encourage practitioners, leaders and the public to recognise public relations as central to leadership, reputation management, trust and national development.
IPR, Ghana invites members, partners, students, young professionals, institutional leaders and the general public to participate in the activities marking IPR, Ghana Month and World Public Relations Day 2026.
