The Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana will launch its 50th anniversary celebration tonight at 6:30 pm at the Accra City Hotel, formerly Novotel.
This milestone coincides with World PR Day, marking a momentous occasion for the public relations community in Ghana.
The event will feature prominent guests, including the Minister of Information, Fatimah Abubakar, who will be the Special Guest.
The Chairman of the National Peace Council will serve as a Guest Speaker, while John Awuah, the Chief Executive of the Ghana Association of Banks, will deliver the Keynote Address. IPR President Esther A. N. Cobbah will also speak on the “Essence and Ethics of Public Relations.”
The 50th Anniversary celebration, themed “PR for Value Creation,” emphasizes the importance of ethical communication in promoting peace, particularly in an election year. The launch will bring together IPR members, government officials, private sector leaders, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders.
This evening’s launch is part of the Annual IPR Ghana Week, which begins on World PR Day. The Institute has planned various activities to highlight the value of public relations for individuals, organizations, communities, and nations. Following the launch, the week will include community engagement on environmental conservation, a “Student’s Time” on Thursday, and an evening of knowledge enhancement through humor for IPR members.
Madam Esther A. N. Cobbah, President of IPR Ghana, expressed her excitement about the milestone, saying, “Members of IPR are really delighted to be celebrating 50 years of our Institute. For us, this is a good opportunity to further strengthen our Institute, deepen professional bonds, and make even more impact nationally, continentally, and globally. Join our celebration.”
